General Information
Love's main antagonist is the ruthless AI. All AI belong to their own village. There are 5 types of villages, where each village has its own name, architecture, color, and tokens corresponding to that color. Since each Village type has its own unique layout, architecture, and AI inhabitants, it becomes easy to determine what color a village is with a simple glance. At any given time on a Love server there are two settlements of each AI village in the world. Since the AI build their settlements in real time, you can find AI villages under construction, where the base has undefended tokens, or sometimes no tokens at all.
- Fire - The Kondosant Clan that produce red token seeds.
- Health - The Clondo Tribe that produce green token seeds.
- Power - The Omprelly Enclave that produce blue token seeds.
- Radio - The Con Dotita Raiders that produce white token seeds.
- Transportation - The Gindra Traders that produce yellow token seeds.
Raiding AI settlements
To eliminate an AI village (stop them from attacking you) a player simply has to walk up to the village's token altar(s) and either take the tokens or destroy the altars. The AI will attack you on sight, sometimes making this difficult. Once an AI base is found, the real fun begins. There are several different ways to raid an AI base, but they all start with one important beginning: finding convenient transportation. Often times, players will die a lot while raiding a single settlement, and this saves a lot of headaches. Let's list 'em, shall we?
Transportation to AI bases:
- Walking
- Configured teleporters
- Nearby checkpoint
- Player Rally Point
Okay, now we know where a base is, and how to get there, what next? Call for help, of course! Using voice chat is a lot more fun. While solo raids can vary in difficulty, it's always nice to have a good sense of companionship. Whether you're alone or have a team of buddies, you may need to think about how to get into a specific AI base:
- Red - Since red bases are underground, it is of utmost importance to secure an exit. It does the player no good to jump in a whole and not be able to leave with tokens. Either find some stairs, a block of ice, or throw down a cable pod before jumping. After a red base dies, eventually the ground will be raised back to normal height. If you're patient, you don't have to secure the previously mentioned exit.
- Green - Large tower complexes with spiraling stairs on the outside. They use fences on stairwells and make use of many bi-directional cable relay sets to get between different towers.
- Yellow - Generally up high on a mesa. Best to look for ice blocks, teleporters, or cable relays to find your way up. Binoculars sure help here. Be careful for fences. Find ways to get on top of the roofs.
- Blue - Lots of buildings, be careful for fences. Find ways to get on top of the roofs.
- White - Watch out for Rocket Pits. They make several square valleys in the ground to place all of their buildings under tents and strings. Generally found on level ground.
To find/raid these bases, you're going to need some specific tools, so let's do that now:
- Weapons. preferably Slug Rifle, Rocket or Shotgun
- Smooth Edit as ice blocks can be edited, granting access to usually unaccessable locations.
- Dive Gear for crafty escapes, or stealthy entrances.
- Binoculars
For bases other than white, you're going to need a plan. Not all of these are necessary for any particular base, but they never hurt. Some recommended steps.
- Cut off their power (disable turrets and fences)
- Shoot out the fuses on spawners, this is very important. The AI will constantly spawn if the blue/pink fuses are not shot out. These fuses are on the bottom of each spawner and look like lightning. Over time the fuses regenerate, so keep an eye on them.
- Wipe out the general population of AI in the base
- Grab the tokens and escape!
Now that you have your tokens, you must either walk or use a teleporter to get back to your own base. Respawning now would drop your tokens where you are standing. It's very convenient to have a buddy tell you the coordinates of a teleporter in your base and simply teleport back with one you find in the wild.
