This guide needs to be updated to reflect new concepts introduced in Avail
This is an advanced strategy guide for setting up a specific manufacturing zone. Information on manufacture rates can be found at Power Usage. This plan outputs 1 power pod every 1.666... seconds. That's about 83 player power per second. Other pods are output every 7.407... seconds. For more basic information about base layouts and token placement, check out the Token Layout Guide.
Idea of Containment
Several players have complained over the course of Love that the windmills were too bright for their lame graphics cards. So I propose containing the main need for windmills (manufacturing) either inside a building/cave or underground (technically the same). Not only does this help our outdated friends, but it looks damn cool, much like Monitor Lizards.
The Manufacturing Side of Things
I have 2 main designs (and 1 crap-map) to share, each stemming from the manufacturing caves I built a few days ago.

and much better:

Plan B is far more efficient (A:198 vs B:171 tiles). Obviously, the different manu's other than power can be moved to the different manu locations. Either of these designs can be placed in above-ground and covered buildings or underground caves with ramps (the only difference would be the base height). Roofs should be placed above either style, to keep players from messing up the complex underground.
Now that we have the basic layout down, here's how the insides work:

In this example, we are looking at the power manufacture group, but the same layout works for the 3 other manufactures, just with 3 rows of 3 windmills and the different manufactures. The steps for the windmills ensures line of sight and also looks quite swanky. The step height doesn't have to be that of a whole tile, half of a tile should be good enough. I reccomend flat steps instead of slopes for a cleaner look and an easier setup. The hole between the cable relay and the first row of windmills is necessary breathing room. I tried filling that row with windmills too, and it looked awful. Then I tried putting in windows (to keep the noobs out), but sometimes this interferes with the power beams. Edge might look cool though. Keep an open mind.
Let's talk size and placement now. Many people would think that a 19x9 rectangle is WAY too big for a settlement to have. This fear is somewhat reasonable considering the poor monolith placement as of late. If the monolith is placed correctly, this is no issue at all (Check Contemporary Etiquette section for correct placement). Simply centering Plan B 2-4 tiles in a cardinal direction from the monolith would be ideal. If the monolith is already in a bad place, Plan C might help.
Now to Plan C, which is an alternate base set-up involving the same manufacturing groups from before:

The rectangles around the green circle(the monolith and halo) correspond to the manufacturing groups (oriented with the manufactures close to the monolith) of the same color from previous maps. The black squiggles are for random other token groups in the base, and the outer green rectangle would be the base wall.
