Absorbs all weapon fire from outside the area of effect, including artillery fire. It does not, however, protect players inside the force field from the explosions caused by artillery(this may not be an intended effect). Can be disabled with chaff pods.
Settlements are permitted to have up to three force fields
Any power generator(well, reactor, deposit etc.) within the area of effect of a forcefield will be disabled until no longer within that area; if a force field is powered by a power generator which will be located within the force fields area of effect when fully expanded, it will constantly expand and contract.
Force fields can be upgraded with matter. The effect of the upgrade applied to a force field will be active within the area of effect of that forcefield. For example a force field upgraded with fire (Mineral + Gas) will cause fire damage to all those within. Additionally, the appearance of a forcefield is entirely dependent upon its upgrades, a blank forcefield will be black (and rather hard to see) but a force field upgraded with fire will look like a ball of fire.
