game freezes when alt-tabbing

w7 x64 nvidia geforce GTX 460 (nvidia geforce 8800GTS in 2nd slot)

when switching back to the game after alt-tabbing the game will lock up. Alt-tabbing out and back again un-freezes the game.

Steps to Reproduce:

load the game,
alt-tab out
alt-tab back in (frozen)

alt-tab out
alt-tab back in (fixed)
